Marion Natural history Museum9 viewsOn Wednesday, September 30, the fall after-school group walked in Holmes Woods with state forester James Rassman. We discovered how to identify several trees in this young forest, such as Aspen, Maples, birch and others. We also learned how to determine a tree’s age using several methods, including counting branches and taking a core sample. James estimates this young forest is about 60 to 70 years old.
