Speaking on Humpback whales, Dr. Kavanagh covered several stages, including giving birth (tail first), and how male humpbacks shield the mother while she’s giving birth by creating a bubble-net screen. Town Administrator Geoffrey Gorman, State Representative Mark Sylvia, State Senator Kelly Dooner, Executive Office of Economic Development Interim Secretary Ashley Stolba, and Select Board Chair Randy Parker all spoke before the cutting, with Parker handing the big scissors off to the Stolba and Dooner to do the actual grand opening. We took part in some exercises to loosen up and then had fun finding our own specimens to draw. We also had a chance to discuss our different experiences and have some laughs.
