Nolan Fest442 viewsThe first-ever Nolan Fest was held on July 11 at Silvershell Beach in Marion to honor the late Nolan Gibbons, who tragically passed away on August 18, 2020. The festival featured live music and words presented by area and national contributors, along with video tributes and a fire show. Marion Village Stroll442 viewsCars lined several Marion streets as residents gathered for the town’s Christmas Stroll on December 12. Front Street and connecting village roads were partially closed for the event, as families enjoyed refreshments provided by area merchants at their doorsteps and along the roads. Clydesdale horses escorted Santa Claus and passengers, while the Sippican Elementary School Band played, Tabor Academy student singer Wesley Lai of Hong Kong sang, and a bike rider juggled bowling pins. Clean Up442 viewsAfter a rainy Saturday, the Scouts from Pack 32 and Troop 32 of Marion along with countless volunteers from the community spent the morning on Sunday, April 27 cleaning up multiple areas around town. With the generous support of the Washburn Park Trust, the scouts, their families and countless volunteers started their spring-cleaning donating numerous items to a local charity (Gifts to Give). Breakfast with Santa441 viewsMarion’s Police Brotherhood held its 3rd annual toy drive and pancake breakfast with Santa at Sippican School on December 6. Families were asked to bring new unwrapped toys, and in return they were given a delicious pancake breakfast and a photo with Santa.
