Marion 4th of July Parade454 viewsMarion Town Administrator Jay McGrail and Select Board members Norm Hills, John Waterman, and Randy Parker walked the Independence Day parade route on Monday morning along with veterans, marching bands, Boy and Girl Scout troops, youth baseball teams, decorated floats, fire engines, and a convoy of antique cars. Volunteers454 viewsPenny Pinchers Exchange, located in the Elizabeth Taber Chapel on Main Street in Marion, spent a very busy April 24 morning working with six, amazingly capable students as they sorted, rearranged, organized, tagged and cleared out all the winter stock and readied the incoming summer inventory. PPX, an all-volunteer group of women, is so very grateful for their help. What these young people did in two hours would have taken two weeks of Wednesdays and Saturdays. Second Annual Kid’s Equipment Day453 viewsLittle kids and big, big machines on a warm spring Marion morning made for tons of fun at the Marion Recreation’s Second Annual Kid’s Equipment Day on May 10. A row of different Town-owned vehicles including a police cruiser, ambulance, earth diggers, a fire engine, and fire trucks lined the Town House field. There was a performance by the Toe Jam Puppet Band, a Birds of Prey demonstration, face painting, and a rock-climbing wall.
