Pack 32510 viewsOn Saturday, March 23, 27 Cub Scouts from Pack 32 in Marion advanced in rank. Four of them were fifth graders earning the Arrow of Light Award. This is the highest award a Cub Scout can earn, and it is the only Cub Scout badge that can be worn on the Boy Scout uniform. The museum lost many of its specimens during our ceiling collapse and these incredibly detailed pieces are greatly appreciated. Living History 510 viewsIt looked like July 8, 1776 at Silvershell Beach in Marion this past Saturday. Folks from the Fairhaven Village Militia and Wareham Militia Group in conjunction with Marion Recreation and the Marion Cultural Council took spectators back in time to Colonial Massachusetts during a weekend-long encampment at the beach. Participants in olde-tyme apparel demonstrated what life was like in the 1770s during the Revolutionary War through demonstrations of drilling, cooking, and flintlock musket use. Photos by Jean

Works have been created by students from Sippican Elementary and Old Rochester Regional Junior and Senior high schools. Police Dedication509 viewsThe public was invited to a building dedication and ceremony for the new Marion police station on July 10, 2010. The town appropriated $3.8 million for the new building, which replaces the old police station on Spring Street. Among those in attendance were Police Chief Lincoln Miller, the Marion police department, the Board of Selectmen, Town Administrator Paul Dawson, Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph McDonald and members of the Police Station Building Committee.
