5th Annual 5K Turkey Trot522 viewsThere were 31 registered runners for this year’s 5th Annual 5K Turkey Trot for Marion Recreation on Sunday, November 22. The course takes runners from Tabor Academy down Front Street through the village and back again to Tabor. Little Neck Village 522 viewsMore than 25 residents of Little Neck Village in Marion recently celebrated the property’s 5th annual Summer Hawaiian Luau. Residents enjoyed traditional Hawaiian food and entertainment that included a sing along, limbo, drums and a resident dance contest.

Cushing VFW Post 2425, which in return gave a moving farewell as it disbanded this year and donated the VFW building to the town. Living History 522 viewsIt looked like July 8, 1776 at Silvershell Beach in Marion this past Saturday. Folks from the Fairhaven Village Militia and Wareham Militia Group in conjunction with Marion Recreation and the Marion Cultural Council took spectators back in time to Colonial Massachusetts during a weekend-long encampment at the beach. Participants in olde-tyme apparel demonstrated what life was like in the 1770s during the Revolutionary War through demonstrations of drilling, cooking, and flintlock musket use. Photos by Jean

Marion Halloween Parade 2017522 viewsHalloween in the Marion village is one event that shouldn’t be missed! Hundreds upon hundreds of little ghosts, ghouls, and goblins took to the streets to show off their costumes and follow it up with some treats (no tricks) and refreshments at the Marion Music Hall, sponsored by those very kind witches at the Marion Art Center. Annual Tree Sale521 viewsA Decorating Committee from the Sippican Womans Club produced over 50 festive trees for the Tree Spree, which started in Handys Tavern. The tavern was decked out with themed trees, including a Barbie tree, a Hannukah tree, a Mallard duck tree, and even a tree decorated with recycled items like bottles and plastic bags. Over 20 girls dressed in their pink and red finest enjoyed dainty finger foods, festive cupcakes, red fruit punch, and tea.
