Living History 547 viewsIt looked like July 8, 1776 at Silvershell Beach in Marion this past Saturday. Folks from the Fairhaven Village Militia and Wareham Militia Group in conjunction with Marion Recreation and the Marion Cultural Council took spectators back in time to Colonial Massachusetts during a weekend-long encampment at the beach. Participants in olde-tyme apparel demonstrated what life was like in the 1770s during the Revolutionary War through demonstrations of drilling, cooking, and flintlock musket use. Photos by Jean

Marion Halloween Parade 2017547 viewsHalloween in the Marion village is one event that shouldn’t be missed! Hundreds upon hundreds of little ghosts, ghouls, and goblins took to the streets to show off their costumes and follow it up with some treats (no tricks) and refreshments at the Marion Music Hall, sponsored by those very kind witches at the Marion Art Center. Marion Holiday Stroll547 views It was all about Santa on December 10 for the annual Marion Holiday Stroll, although at first the Grinch stole the show (but not Christmas) until Santa made his big arrival at Town Wharf to the chanting of his name, stealing back from the Grinch his rightful place as the center of attention. Marion Natural History Museum547 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum after school group had a wonderful time exploring what works (and what doesn't) when constructing a wooden sailboat. The students constructed their own boat, either a single hull or catamaran, and added a sail and keel. We took a close look at barrier beaches, vernal pools, salt marshes, and tide pools.
