We covered the development of this anadromous species, its diet, and where it stands in the food chain. The students learned about herring eggs and how neutral buoyancy plays an important role in their development.

The students constructed their own boat, either a single hull or catamaran, and added a sail and keel. After decorating their vessels, students raced the boats down two long rain gutters filled with water. Many thanks to engineer Mark Whalen for yet another terrific program!
