Marion Holiday Stroll582 viewsThe Marion village streets were filled with holiday revelers on Sunday, December 9, for the annual Marion Holiday Stroll. Santa’s boat docked at the Marion Wharf where the faces of hundreds of children lit up at his arrival. Santa boarded a horse-drawn carriage and paraded through the streets, passing businesses offering free goodies and dodging the whereabouts of that old Grinch who didn’t seem to mind Christmas coming at all this year. The Derby was held at the Sippican School where scouts raced cars weighing less than 5 ounces down a sloped wooden track. Everyone cheered as the wooden cars raced down the track in packs or four. 2012 Stone Horse Builder’s Cup581 viewsMarion resident Jim Stewart and his wife Maura teamed up with Doug and Ingrid Scott of Castine, Maine to win the 2012 Stone Horse Builder’s Cup Race on Buzzards Bay earlier this month.
