SLT Oyster Fest 619 viewsThe Sippican Lands Trust’s Beer and Oyster Fest fundraiser was a hit despite the threat of approaching Hurricane Dorian, which was replaced with blue skies just in time, and holding the event earlier in the day mitigated the guests’ exposure to EEE-carrying mosquitos. Marion Council on Aging619 viewsThe Marion Council on Aging held a St. Patrick's Day "Grab N Go" luncheon on Tuesday at the Cushing Community Center. Seniors were treated to a drive-thru pickup of a boxed lunch featuring potato leek soup, a corned beef Rueben sandwich with sauerkraut and Russian dressing served with kettle-cooked chips, a dill pickle, and pistachio cake for dessert. Library Henna618 viewsThe Elizabeth Taber Library hosted a henna tattoo program for teens, with each guest receiving their own henna creation by professional henna artist Heather Cault-Nulton. The art of henna dates back thousands of years and has recently grown in popularity.
