Marion Natural History Museum631 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Jim Pierson for a wonderful program on collecting rocks and fossils. We learned about geology vs. paleontology equipment and how fossils are made. We also had a chance to make our own Megladon tooth to take home. The museum also wishes to thank Sarah Porter, and parent volunteers Wendy Copps and Marcia Waldron, for their help during the event. Santa and Mrs. Claus631 viewsSanta and Mrs. Claus made a stop at the Marion Police Brotherhood’s annual Pizza with Santa on Sunday, December 2, at the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center. Pizza with Santa631 viewsThe Marion Police Brotherhood held its annual Pizza with Santa at the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center on Sunday, December 8. ‘Chief’ Santa and Mrs. Claus entertained the little ones before enjoying a pizza lunch. The Police Department’s “Fill a Cruiser” toy drive was in full gear as well, with several guests bringing toy donations to benefit children in foster care. Photos by Jean Perry

The public was welcome to tour the facilities, and children enjoyed exploring all the engines available at the station. Sippican House Tour630 viewsThe Sippican Women's Club hosted their 25th Holiday House Tour on Saturday, December 10, 2011. The theme this year – "A Tropical Christmas" – brought a splash of color to the annual event, along with sand, Tiki bars, and flamingo motifs. Even though it was a chilly December day, attendees enjoyed the warmth of the tropics on the tour. Next year, Handy's Tavern will be decorated to look like 1812. Photo by Laura Fedak Pedulli.
