March Madness488 viewsOld Rochester Regional Junior High School hosted March Madness Junior, a benefit basketball game on Friday evening, March 14, which pitted the students and faculty against each another. The game, which was organized to benefit the Thuestad family of Mattapoisett and the DeMello family of Rochester, ended with the students narrowly defeating the faculty, 48-47. Sharing the Harvest488 viewsOn September 25, 70 Old Hammondtown School 6th-graders went to "Sharing the Harvest," a volunteer-staffed farm at the Dartmouth YMCA that grows and distributes fresh food to local food banks. Students processed thousands of pounds of butternut squash, prepared seedling trays, planted garlic for next year's harvest, and unearthed sweet potatoes, despite the rain. Distributive Education Clubs of America488 viewsOld Rochester is proud to welcome DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) to its plethora of extracurricular activities. DECA is a program dedicated to preparing young students for the real world. Specifically, it focuses on a wide variety of business subjects, from management to accounting to tourism. There is something for everyone to do in DECA, and there is something for everyone to get out of DECA. There are over 250,000 members nationwide, and a striking 50 students at Old Rochester.

Soles for Soul487 viewsORR high school and junior high school are participating in the Soles for Souls campaign to supply gently used shoes to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Teacher Margaret Benson said that its an attempt to help people who have lost everything and cant begin to repair without something to walk in.
