Soles for Soul460 viewsORR high school and junior high school are participating in the “Soles for Souls” campaign to supply gently used shoes to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Teacher Margaret Benson said that it’s an attempt to help people who have “lost everything and can’t begin to repair without something to walk in”. Gold Medal459 viewsThe Old Hammondtown School orchestra pulled off its fifth straight gold medal at the Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association competition. As a prize, the orchestra got to play at the Boston Symphony Hall on April 27. This was a bittersweet moment for the orchestra, as it will be the last year that they will enjoy the guidance of their music teachers, Stan Ellis and Jean West, who are both retiring this year. Trebuchet Time458 viewsSenior Carl Dias and freshman Callum McLaughlin from Old Rochester Regional High School’s engineering class constructed this large working trebuchet with guidance from their teacher Tom Norris.
