Top Cheer476 viewsOn Saturday, November 14, 2009, the Junior PeeWee Cheerleaders aged 9-11 from Old Rochester Youth Football (ORYF) competed in the New England Cheer and Dance Competition in Boston. The girls, coached by Patti McArdle and Cheryl Sweeney, won first place in their group and were also awarded the Grand Champion Trophy for the youth division. The cheerleaders are all from Mattapoisett, Marion or Rochester.

Soles for Soul476 viewsORR high school and junior high school are participating in the “Soles for Souls” campaign to supply gently used shoes to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Teacher Margaret Benson said that it’s an attempt to help people who have “lost everything and can’t begin to repair without something to walk in”.
