After Class Enrichment 126 viewsPerforming arts and drama courses were offered as part of this year's After Class Enrichment (A.C.E.) sessions at Sippican Elementary School. Students combined painted glass and sand art, assisted by Tabor After School Community Service Volunteers, created clay handles for their vases as part of a collaborative project with the Marion Historical Society, participated in 3D printing, and worked on "Once Upon a Time" STEAM activities.

Volunteers at Sippican Elementary126 viewsVolunteers at Sippican Elementary (VASE) hosted their fourth Boosterthon Fun Run fundraiser last week. VASE works with Booster, a company that helps raise funds for enrichment activities such as in-school performances, field trips and afterschool programs. Students reached out to friends, family and businesses across 30 states and 7 countries; 87 percent of the student body registered with 79 percent earning donations for Sippican.

Loft School126 viewsThe Loft School of Marion held its Preschool Art Show and Pre-K Celebrates the World Tour on April 6. The boys and girls invited their families to view all the amazing artwork they have created this year. The Pre-K class has spent the year traveling around the world, learning about different countries such as Italy, Portugal, Germany and Costa Rica. The children shared unique projects and interesting facts about each country with their families. It was nice to be able to invite families into school again. A

ORR Spirit Week126 viewsThe culmination of Old Rochester Regional High School’s Spirit Week was a pep rally held after October 7 classes in the gymnasium. ORR sophomores performed a Wizard of Oz skit, and the ORR Bulldog joined Dorothy and company. The seniors displayed a "Back in Time/Back to the Future" theme, featuring a cleverly constructed “Delorean,” a colorful aerobics class, lots of action and energetic music with Marty McFly and Doc Brown characters joined by the heroic Bulldog.

Friends of Old Rochester Music126 viewsThe Friends of Old Rochester Music (F.O.R.M.) recently held their Scholarship concerts in the ORR High School gymnasium, featuring all five ORR districts. Choirs performed on March 5 and bands on March 12. The Sippican Chorus featured soloists Olivia Crillo and Gigi Arone.
