The Scoop on S.C.O.P.E. 406 viewsORRJHS 7th-grade students participated in the annual S.C.O.P.E. cardboard boat race at the beach at the Mattapoisett YMCA last Wednesday, June 20. The students engineer and build their boats – some sink, some sail – and this year team “Funky Monkey” came in first place. There were 15 boats in all this year, all created by teams of four. Sayonara, School! 406 viewsDark clouds and raindrops couldn’t dampen the spirits of students and teachers on June 25 when Rochester Memorial School said farewell until next September. Bandleader Chris Williamson, along with teachers and Principal Derek Medeiros, sent the students on their way with the traditional rousing music. National Honor Society406 viewsA group of students paid tribute to Sister Teresa Trayers, SND, who will be inducted to the Bishop Stang High School Hall of Honors at an event on Sunday, October 21. The school's National Honor Society is named in Honor of Sister Teresa, and members honored her by holding their annual “Rock-a-thon,” rocking in rocking chairs for donations and receiving food donations throughout the day on Saturday, September 22.
