Mom's Marathon '07631 viewsAn estimated 400 runners and walkers came out to the Oxford Creamery in Mattapoisett on Sunday, May 13 to participate in the first annual Tiara Classic Mothers Day 5K Road Race. The race was held to benefit the Womens Fund of Southeastern Massachusetts. Many of the runners donned tiaras and capes, making this event one of the more colorful local road races. A Christmas Carol631 viewsNearly 30 children from all over Southeastern, Massachusetts will perform in the 2009 Burt Wood School of Performing Arts production of A Christmas Carol. Performers include Skyler Callahan of Rochester and Abigail Wheeler of Marion. The shows are on Sunday, December 13, at 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm in the grand ballroom of the Middleboro Town Hall, located on 10 Nickerson Avenue, in Middleboro. For a $6 donation, children could pick from crafts like pine cone Christmas trees, clothes-pin reindeer, and foam ornaments paint, glitter and glue were in abundant supply.
