The event was very well attended with lots of great food from local restaurants. The premier sponsor of the event was Pilgrim Bank. Habitat was able to raise $5,000 for their upcoming build.

The Wanderer office was just one of many Tri-Town locations accepting self-stable foods, stationery, pens, toiletries, and more. In the first couple weeks of November, an winter jacket/hats/gloves drive for veterans will be taking place at the Mattapoisett Fire Station and CapeCod4Troops will be collecting goods as well. Wrestling in Rochester559 viewsMembers of the Northeast Championship Wrestling League (NCW) held a series of wrestling matchups in the gymnasium of Rochester’s Memorial School on Saturday, April 14 on the occasion of their tenth anniversary to stage a ‘Reunion’ of NCW to benefit the family of RMS science teacher Tom Kinsky. The event was hosted by the Marion Council on Aging (COA) with a group of student volunteers from Old Rochester Regional Junior High School, who not only helped serve refreshments, but also joined their elders on the dance floor for some contemporary and traditional dances. Camp Massasoit offers programs for children of all ages starting with their Scamper Camp program aimed at preschool aged children, 4 to 5 years of age, up to their Counselor-In-Training program for teenagers, 15 to 16 years of age. English Copper Beech Tree558 viewsThe English Copper Beech tree in our backyard is over 250 years old, and last year it was looking sad so in the fall my husband hired a tree expert. He suggested that we stop fertilizing our lawn as it might be harming the tree's root system and gave the tree two applications of organic fish food two months apart. This spring, the tree looks better. My husband was mowing the lawn this morning after the rainfall last evening and saw this fish under the tree. Judy Rosbe

Mom's Marathon '07557 viewsAn estimated 400 runners and walkers came out to the Oxford Creamery in Mattapoisett on Sunday, May 13 to participate in the first annual Tiara Classic Mother’s Day 5K Road Race. The most impressive feat of the day was accomplished by runner Mary Cass (above) who won the women’s portion of the race, outdistancing the competition by several hundred feet while pushing her daughters, Acadia and Naomi, in a jogging stroller.
