Buzzards Bay Musicfest499 viewsThis week was the Buzzards Bay Musicfest in Marion, held at the Fireman Center for the Performing Arts at Tabor Academy. The free event brings together musicians from all across the globe for the five-day concert series. During Friday night’s chamber music performance, harp principal Rita Costanzi, the former Principal Harp of the Vancouver Symphony and CBC Radio Orchestra, received a standing ovation for her extraordinary performance. Tour de Crème499 viewsThis Sunday was the third annual Tour de Crème, a fundraising partnership between the Mattapoisett Land Trust and the Friends of the Mattapoisett Bike Path. The ride started at the Town Beach and wound its way through the Southcoast, making stops at the various creameries along the way. Amy Hartley-Matteson of Mattapoisett and Katherine Hartley of Rochester (2:11:14) won the women’s division for the third consecutive time – the second time they’ve three-peated. Olde Field Farm498 viewsThe Mattapoisett Land Trust and the Rochester Land hosted a joint walk at the Olde Field Farm property on the afternoon of Sunday, February 23. Hikers walked through the pinewood trails and through the frozen wetlands surrounding the Mattapoisett River, looking for animal tracks in the snow and admiring the natural beauty Rochester has to offer.
