Between 300 and 400 guests came to sample the chowder of 16 different teams, split into two categories: public safety and professional. Various volunteer organizations and groups dependent on volunteer participation set up tables and invited the public to learn how they could help. Tour de Crème414 viewsThis Sunday was the third annual Tour de Crème, a fundraising partnership between the Mattapoisett Land Trust and the Friends of the Mattapoisett Bike Path. The ride started at the Town Beach and wound its way through the Southcoast, making stops at the various creameries along the way. Proceeds of the ride will go towards maintaining the MLT trails and the extension of the bike path to the Mattapoisett/Marion town line. Photos by Glenn C. Silva

BBC Watershed Ride414 viewsThe Buzzards Bay Coalition’s 13th annual Watershed Ride pedaled its way through the Tri-Town on Sunday, October 6, taking participants on three different courses that wound through the land that surrounds Buzzards Bay the way gold enfolds a pearl.
