2014 Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride555 viewsOver 150 cyclists celebrated the beauty of the Buzzards Bay area on October 5 during the 2014 Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride that passed through Rochester at Eastover Farm. A 75-mile ride to raise fund and awareness of the BBC started at Horseneck Beach in Westport all went all the way to Falmouth, and the half-route 35-mile ride started in Rochester. The Coast Guard, in cooperation with the North Carolina Resources Commission, helped release a total of 19 rehabilitated sea turtles into the Gulf Stream off the coast of North Carolina including Kemp’s ridley sea turtles, green sea turtles and a loggerhead sea turtle.

Relay for Life554 viewsOver 200 Tri-Town residents gathered to help raise money for the American Cancer Society by participating in the fifth annual Relay for Life. The Relay started at 5:00 pm on Friday June 11 and continued until 12:00 pm on Saturday. Participants walked the track at ORR throughout the night and into the next afternoon as a way to honor cancer survivors and those who lost their battle to cancer.
