Lost Coins501 viewsThey say one person’s trash is another’s treasure. Treasure or not, the workers at SEMASS, the massive trash to energy facility in Rochester, never know what might filter through while processing the region’s trash. This collection of metal objects is a sample of the myriad metal things pulled from the trash flow by large magnets every day. Looks like treasure to us! Photo by Jean Perry January 17, 2019 edition

Kids at the Block500 viewsIt was a little earlier than usual, but the annual Marion Block Party on August 28, 2010 went off without a hitch. Children enjoyed cotton candy, a bounce house and face-painting, while the grown-ups enjoyed conversation and good weather. It was an appropriate send-off to summer, before Old Rochester schools started back up on September 1. Photos by Felix Perez. September 2, 2010 edition

Clean Fun499 viewsMarion residents hit the street to pick up trash around town on Saturday, May 15. All over Marion, there were people in day-glo vests working with Manducas, long pincers made by Marion resident Eunice Manduca for picking up trash. The collected trash was placed in front of the Marion Music Hall to create Trash Bag Mountain. Photos by Felix Perez. May 20, 2010 edition
