Mattapoisett Woman’s Club561 viewsThe Mattapoisett Woman’s Club planted 1,500 King Alfred trumpet daffodil bulbs last fall. Today the glory of that effort is in full bloom across the community. Club member Roxanne Bungert spearheaded the effort after visiting Newport Rhode Island, where as many as one million bulbs have been planted over the years she attested. “We planted in several locations around town with the support and assistance of the Highway Department,” she said. Earth Day560 viewsHappy Earth Day! This issue is a celebration of all things green and sustainable. There are lots of environmental efforts going on in the Tri-Town lately, including an upcoming ORR Tri-Town farmers market, a new community garden in Mattapoisett, and talk of solar panels at Old Hammondtown School.
