Yee Haw, Maw!518 viewsRochesters Country Fair was a great success despite the cancellation of the Town Ball Game, Woodsman Show, the Block dance and the Bonfire due to EEE. The weather was perfect on Saturday as children raced frogs, climbed walls, bounced in castles and much more. Although the weather was less than perfect on Sunday, residents lined the streets with lawn chairs and umbrellas to watch as the Hillbilly themed parade passed. Photos by Felix Perez. Mattapoisett Firefighters Association Chowder Competition517 viewsAt the Mattapoisett Firefighters Association Chowder Competition on Sunday, descendants of the late retired Mattapoisett Fire Chief Donald âWoodyâ Wood posed together for a photo near an engine Wood operated during his career. Woodâs two daughters, Susan McMahon and Betsy Wood Jackson, along with four granddaughters, a grandson, and three great-granddaughters remembered Wood, with McMahon saying as she gestured to her family, âHeâs the reason for all of âthisâ.â Wood passed away just this past May.
