Restoring Ram Island637 viewsHelicopters complete rounds from the Mattapoisett marina to Ram Island on March 8, 2010. The helicopters are part of the Ram Island Restoration Project, which is an effort to rebuild the eroded island so common and roseate terns can nest in their natural habitat. The helicopters will deliver 650 cubic feet of soil to the island and workers will then plant vegetation to prevent further erosion. Photo by Anne O'Brien-Kakley.
Mattapoisett Town Wharf636 views The historic swordfish soaring over the Mattapoisett Town Wharf recently got a bit of TLC from its long-time caregiver William DeYong Field. Patricia Hinsdale donated the weathervane to the Town back in the 1950s. Photos by Jean Perry
Snow Flowers635 viewsThese sad-sallow daffodils in front of the Rochester Town Hall look pretty much like how we all felt Sunday morning when we woke up and looked out the window. The region experienced a strange series of snow squalls coupled with high winds on April 3, followed by a late spring snow and slush storm on Monday that manifested into unalloyed New England hell.
