Marion Natural History Museum429 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's after school program had fun with insects, like the Madagascar cockroach and the "toe-biter," AKA giant water bug. Outside, we took a closer look at some of the insects we can find in our neighborhoods. Many thanks to Blake Dinius of the Plymouth County Extension Service and the student volunteers from Tabor Academy and ORR. Photos courtesy Elizabeth LeidoldMay 01, 2019

Gaga Pit at Center School354 viewsPaul McLaughlin of Mattapoisett Troop 53 has completed his Eagle Scout Project – a Gaga Pit at Center School. McLaughlin, a freshman at Old Colony, wanted to build the Gaga pit where everyone could access to enjoy a game of Gaga ball. The game is played inside the octagon pit with a soft ball. The ball is hit with the hand at opponents within the Gaga pit below the knees to get them ‘out’. The full set of rules can be found on a plaque hung within the pit, which is there for all to enjoy May 01, 2019
