After his father, Kenny Pacheco, started the tradition of decorating the town tree with the Village Signs bucket truck several years ago, his son Todd is keeping the tradition alive on November 29, 2011. Tradition at the Wayside464 viewsFor 30 years, Edward Days, with the help of his son Anthony, decorated the Wayside Shrine at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Mattapoisett. The shrine was built by Ray Fleurent who passed away this year. When Edward Days passed away 20 years ago, family continued the tradition for seven years. This past Sunday, in memory of his father and all Knights of Columbus, and with permission, Anthony gathered siblings and grandchildren to continue the tradition once again. This year, the Rochester knitters made items for children, donating 46 caps for preemies at Charlton Hospital, and 19 pairs of mittens, 40 hats, 23 scarves, one sweater, and one pair of socks for "Gifts to Give" in New Bedford.
