Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race365 viewsIt rained, again, for the Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race on Monday, May 29, but that never stops the participants from paddling the 14 miles of the Mattapoisett River that winds from Grandma Hartley’s Reservoir in Snipatuit Pond in Rochester all the way to the Herring Weir in Mattapoisett off River Road and Route 6. This was the 83rd year of the Tri-Town tradition. Photos by Jean PerryJun 01, 2017

Marion Natural History Museum430 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Caroline Grainger for her donation of several beautifully carved birds created by her father, James Babbit. The museum lost many of its specimens during our ceiling collapse and these incredibly detailed pieces are greatly appreciated. The museum is hoping to create a new display of nature-inspired artwork from local artists and these specimens are a great start. Photos courtesy Elizabeth LeidholdMay 24, 2017
