The plaque was attached to the building by George Owen and Tim Bates. These plaques are being donated by the commission to some of the town buildings used by the community with a hope of sharing town history. Rochester Fire172 viewsOccupants and their animals escaped an October 28 fire that destroyed their house on North Avenue in Rochester. One occupant of the residence was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Rochester Fire Department, which arrived eight minutes after the 12:39 pm call to address heavy fire and smoke in the attached garage, according to the department's report on its Facebook page.
