100th Brthday502 viewsIf you see Marion Connors, wish her a Happy 100th Birthday! Connors’s daughter Patricia Normand credits the two-mile daily walks up until Marion was 90, and her daily half a glass of red wine for her mother’s longevity. Family and friends celebrated with Marion at the Sippican Healthcare Center activities room on Friday, June 13. Marion turns 100 today, June 14. By Jean PerryJun 19, 2014

Family Campout at Camp Hadley548 viewsOn the weekend of June 7 the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts met for their annual Family Campout at Camp Hadley in Marion. The Scouts started off with a firewood moving exercise that got all involved and started the day off right. The Boy Scouts did a great job introducing the Cub Scouts to ‘Line Rescue’ in the water, Knife, Saw and Axe Safety, Fire Safety, Dutch Oven Cooking (with a pineapple upside down cake) and a Flag Raising and Lowering Ceremony. Field Day Fun at Sippican School 524 viewsFriday morning we caught some first-graders in the middle of a hula-hoop relay on the grounds of Sippican School. Holding hands and cheering each other on, the kids twisted and turned themselves through the hoops and the first team to get their hoop to travel down and up the line again won the relay. Can you guess which team won? Photo by Jean PerryJun 11, 2014
