Ned’s Point Lighthouse159 viewsTuesday afternoon offered a sneak preview of the reopening of Ned’s Point Lighthouse scheduled for Saturday, October 9, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Cathy Hardy and Mike Lally, a Texas couple, happened to be in the right place at the right time to become the first visitors to the 183-year-old lighthouse that had been closed for the past two years and three months. The lighthouse typically draws 100 visitors from all over the world when open during any regular, three-hour session. Photo by Mick ColageoOct 06, 2021

Paca Run162 viewsSeptember 25 found animal lovers of all ages visiting alpaca farms throughout the region in a game called “Paca Run.” Mattapoisett’s Pine Meadows Farm participated in the event, which included five farms where folks could pick up playing cards. At the end of the two-day event coinciding with National Alpaca Farm Days, the best “Hand” won prizes. But, really, the big winners were the alpacas themselves, who received bountiful treats from their admirers throughout the weekend. Photos by Marilou NewellSep 29, 2021
