These tender young leaves belong to a ginkgo biloba sapling propagated from a 250-year-old tree that survived the Hiroshima atomic blast. The Town of Rochester held a ceremony by the recently planted baby tree at the Dexter Lane ball fields on August 6, the 72nd anniversary of the bombing, and also acknowledged the Town’s participation in Arbor Day.
