Elizabeth ad Mary Lopes visited Iceland in October. While there they enjoyed the first snow of the season in the first week of October as well as a visit to the black sand beached near Grótta which is just east of Reykjavík. The black sand on the beaches are made from lava which has been tumbled by the surf for centuries.
