The sprawling three-division parade boasting two marching bands was held on Saturday morning, August 4 and traveled from the Mattapoisett Town Hall through the village area, drawing hundreds of spectators along the way. Rochester Road Race 340 viewsThe Rochester Road Race saw 348 runners finish on August 13, 2011. Although there were 20 fewer runners from last year, the event still managed to raise 453 pounds of food for Damien's Pantry in Wareham. The men's winner was Julien De Marian of Paris, France, with a time of 15:57, and the women's winner was Jennifer Almeida of Acushnet with a time of 20:19.      (4 votes)

Rochester Bakery384 viewsThe Rochester Bakery and Cafe, a longtime local hang-out at Plumb Corner, was destroyed in a catastrophic fire on the evening of July 28, 2011. Eyewitnesses described the fire as starting with several explosions at the rear of the building. The blaze displaced two residents and three businesses. Greenways393 viewsOn May 19, 2011, a group of volunteers from Rochester Green Ways converged on the corner of New Bedford Road and Dexter Lane to repair the damage done to their wildflower garden path by last spring’s flooding. The Green Ways Committee invites the public to use the path, to take the time to stop and smell the flowers, watch the butterflies and consider what a small group of volunteers can accomplish with community support.
