Waterman school, which was in the building that now houses the Rochester Fire Department, was the forerunner to RMS during the first half of the Twentieth Century. Children and their grandparents had fun playing bean-bag toss, bocce, posing with the Three Stooges, and more. The face-painting and petting zoo areas were a complete hit! Double Eagle352 viewsArtist Augustus Saint-Gaudens models a portrait of a woman, Mrs. Cleveland, in the Old Stone Studio in Marion, 1887. Mr. Saint-Gaudens designed the “Double Eagle” gold coin in 1907. The coin was highly sought-after, and a reproduction of the coin has been added to the Sippican Historical Society Museum. MAC Show352 viewsA two-person show will be opening at the Marion Art Center on February 28 with a reception to meet the artists from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The first exhibit, entitled “Beauty in the Boatyard – Ten Years at Burr Brothers” is by artist Terry Coleman, and the second exhibit entitled “Landscapes and Figures, Real and Imaginary” is by artist Molly Watson Hawley. Both artists have ties to New England and Marion.
