Plymouth Sands Trail Riders 327 viewsOn Sunday, October 28, the Plymouth Sands Trail Riders bike club held a hare scramble at the Mattapoisett landfill. The club, which boasts over 300 members from all around New England, had over 100 riders participate in the event. Riders from teens up to seniors took off for the 40 minute races around the 2.5 mile wooded track. Sadie helps children learn to read every week at the library. In celebration of her birthday, the library will be collecting pet goods to be donated to a local animal shelter at the end of the month. Hampered by the snow and ice they chased the fire through the walls and roof of the house and were eventually able to gain control. Old Rochester Little League327 views The Old Rochester Little League held their parade and opening day on Saturday April 27. The festivities included the National Anthem sung by Jennel Garcia and opening pitches thrown by Police Chief’s Lincoln Miller (Marion), Mary Lyons (Mattapoisett), and Paul McGee (Rochester), as well as Fire Chiefs Thomas Joyce (Marion), Andrew Murray (Mattapoisett) and Scott Weigel (Rochester). Fireworks Fundraiser327 viewsMaggie Fearons, Katie Nilson, Natalie Nilson and Georgia Toland work to raise money for the Marion Fireworks. Fundraising efforts have already yielded over $38,000 towards the effort. The exact figure needed is not known until the bids are opened and the costs of services such as police and fire details are quantified.
