Marion Natural History Museum333 viewsSeveral students took advantage of the Marion Natural History Museum's new virtual reality set over the February vacation. Student Jacob Nye spent some time on a virtual tour of the Amazon Rain Forest, tried walking in space, and enjoyed visiting with animals under the sea. The virtual reality is available for children and adults to use by appointment only. Museum member families receive five free virtual tour visits, $5 per visit for non-members.

Octopurrfest333 viewsOctopurrfest is one of those annual fundraisers that get bigger and better every year. It’s All About the Animals, a non-profit cat shelter in Rochester, hosted its Halloween-themed outdoor event on Sunday, Octopurr 14, featuring live music, a huge raffle, lots of vendors and food and, of course, a glimpse of all the adorable kittens and cats available for adoption. Marion Holiday Stroll333 viewsThe Marion village streets were filled with holiday revelers on Sunday, December 9, for the annual Marion Holiday Stroll. Santa’s boat docked at the Marion Wharf where the faces of hundreds of children lit up at his arrival. Santa boarded a horse-drawn carriage and paraded through the streets, passing businesses offering free goodies and dodging the whereabouts of that old Grinch who didn’t seem to mind Christmas coming at all this year.
