Mattapoisett Firefighter’s Association369 viewsThe Mattapoisett Firefighter’s Association hosted a chowder competition on September 13 on the Mattapoisett Knights of Columbus grounds. Between 300 and 400 guests came to sample the chowder of 16 different teams, split into two categories: public safety and professional. 5th Annual 5K Turkey Trot369 viewsThere were 31 registered runners for this year’s 5th Annual 5K Turkey Trot for Marion Recreation on Sunday, November 22. The course takes runners from Tabor Academy down Front Street through the village and back again to Tabor. Marion Natural History Museum369 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's after-school group enjoyed working on crafts made from natural and recycled materials last Wednesday. This was the last after-school program for 2015, and the students had a chance to have some fun decorating as well as enjoying snacks and slides of the past year's programs. The pinewood derby is a tradition that was started back in 1963 in Manhattan Beach, California and persists to this day. We viewed a red-tailed hawk, two vultures, many robins, a downy woodpecker, and many more.
