Family Fun Festival 347 viewsFamilies came out in record numbers to enjoy the 4th Annual Fall Free Family Fun Festival sponsored by the Mattapoisett’s Lion Club on October 19 held at Shipyard Park. Bruce Rocha of the club estimated attendance at over 400. Kids and adults alike enjoyed free face painting, bowling with pumpkins, a corn hole toss, snacks, hayrides to Ned’s Point and, yes, free pumpkins to take home. The signed photo of the Fab Four appeared to be the real thing, but antiques and collectibles expert Frank McNamee said that the signatures were just a facsimile and were usually sent out to fans who wrote to the band.

Antiques in Rochester346 viewsA teddy bear won at a carnival by Nancy Boutin's father for her mother in the early 1940's was appraised by Frank McNamee for $50 to $75. The chair belonged her Grandmother's aunt Delia, was made around 1890 and was appraised for $175. Unfortunately for collectors, Nancy doesn't plan on parting with these items. Photo by Felix Perez.

Santa's Arrival346 viewsMarion children gave a rock star’s welcome to Santa Claus, who arrived at Marion’s Annual Holiday Stroll by boat on December 13. The pouring rain didn’t stop Santa from spreading candy and holiday cheer to the crowd of exciting children.
