Rochester turned 340 373 viewsHey, hey, it’s your birthday, Rochester! Rochester turned 340 years old on June 4, and the third grade class from RMS was invited to celebrate with some cake and ice cream at the senior center on Tuesday. Students started the day with a tour around historic Rochester before breaking for lunch and sharing a large birthday cake with seniors. Cardboard Boats373 viewsSCOPE Week meant big fun at the beach in Mattapoisett for ORR Junior High seventh-graders who built their own boats and then raced them on June 5 in Mattapoisett. While half the students head off for Survival, the others enjoy a week of equally challenging tasks of the 40-year tradition of SCOPE that gives students a chance to learn while learning about themselves and each other. As club member Gerry Dupont puts it, “It’s an affliction.
