Poker Run351 viewsMotorcyclists gathered Sunday morning, September 20, in the parking lot of ORR to ride in the third annual Poker Run for Alex Pateakos. Alex is a five-year-old Marion boy who suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Money raised by the poker run will benefit Alex, and Families of SMA, a group that helps families like the Pateakos’ live their lives as close to normal as possible. Superstar351 viewsTabor Academy’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar features local talents such as Dana Resmini ’10 of Rochester and Anna Collins ’10 of Marion, both of whom designed the scenery for the show, Kyler Canastra ’10 of Rochester as Pilate and Cal Heavey ’12 of Marion as Herod. River Road Flood351 viewsA rainstorm on March 29 and 30 wreaked havoc on Massachusetts, leaving the Commonwealth in a state of emergency. The real fall-out didn’t arrive until March 31, when water tables reached record heights and dams in the region were tested to their maximum capacity. The Hathaway Pond Dam in Rochester needed reinforcement with sandbags and the area of Plumb Corner and Dexter Lane became a makeshift pond. Mom's Running351 viewsOver 600 runners came to Mattapoisett on May 9, 2010 to celebrate mom in the fourth annual Tiara Classic 5K road race. This year’s race had more runners than ever, despite the wind and cold temperatures.
