Route 6 Crash527 viewsJust before 3pm June 29, 2009 the Mattapoisett Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle crash at Route 6 and Main Street, which slowed down the already heavy summer traffic. Multiple injuries were reported in the two-vehicle crash to which two ambulances responded. One of the victims was immobilized on a backboard as a precautionary measure while transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for evaluation. The Fairhaven and Marion Police Departments also responded to assist at the scene.

Derby Days527 viewsOn Saturday, January 30, 2010 Marion's Scouts Pack 32 held the first Pine Wood Derby in three years. The Derby was held at the Sippican School where scouts raced cars weighing less than 5 ounces down a sloped wooden track. Everyone cheered as the wooden cars raced down the track in packs or four. Welcome to the Camp526 viewsCarl Robideau, Director of Camp Massasoit at the Mattapoisett branch of the YMCA Southcoast, recently led a tour of the summer camp facility on April 21 to provide prospective parents with an overview of what the program has to offer. Camp Massasoit offers programs for children of all ages starting with their Scamper Camp program aimed at preschool aged children, 4 to 5 years of age, up to their Counselor-In-Training program for teenagers, 15 to 16 years of age.
