A parade began at the Dexter Lane baseball complex and made its way to Gifford Park, where ORYB’s David Arancio recognized the many years of service from Derek Mello, Peter Vieira and David Nelson, who all threw ceremonial first pitches. Plumb Library106 viewsChildren found Friday afternoon at Plumb Library to be a doubly fun time, meeting Boston Bruins mascot Blades and chasing giant bubbles launched airborne by Vinnie Lovegrove of the Toe Jam Puppet Band, all the while learning some science and participating in the kickoff of the library’s summer activities. First responders from 19 communities, state agencies and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to the six-alarm blaze.
