According to state fish and wildlife biologists Jason Zimmer and Steven Wright, the population is rapidly expanding into the eastern part of our state. Christmas Day Plunge115 viewsAt 94, Bob Humphrey was the elder statesman participating in the Christmas Day plunge held at Mattapoisett Town Beach, which including 47 swimmers and raised $2,595 in donations for the benefit of Helping Hands & Hooves. Whale Bark Wanderer115 viewsMattapoisett Museum Curator Connor Gaudet and volunteer Bob Clifford unpack the custom model of the Whale Bark Wanderer 1878 recreated by artist George Lowery from scratch and donated to the museum. The model arrived on Tuesday afternoon from Arizona in a crate weighing a total of 181 pounds. We saw plenty of terns catching fish and an Osprey hover and dive close to Ram Island.
