Rochester Historical Commission209 viewsOn December 4, the Rochester Historical Commission presented a plaque to the Women’s Club noting the building's age. The plaque was attached to the building by George Owen and Tim Bates. These plaques are being donated by the commission to some of the town buildings used by the community with a hope of sharing town history. We will be extending this to residents who will be able to purchase a plaque for their historic home.

Marion Natural History Museum209 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum’s afterschool group had a terrific time constructing their own rockets for launching. This program was so popular it had to be offered twice! The kids had a hands-on introduction to the engineering principles of propulsion and lift. Every rocket managed a successful launch hundreds of feet in the air, and most were safely carried down by the parachutes. The Museum wishes to thank volunteers Mike Cronin and his son Jake for the great program. Photos courtesy Elizabeth Leidho
