This year, on September 15, they went to "Sharing the Harvest Community Farm" at the YMCA of Dartmouth. The team worked hard in planting and preparing the fields for the next set of crops. Festival of Trees 181 viewsThe Festival of Trees opened on November 27 with a reception at the Cushing Community Center on Route 6 in Marion. Sponsored by the Friends of Marion Council on Aging, the event showcased 14 decorated Christmas trees, along with an artisan sale, music, refreshments and a raffle for over 10 gift baskets. Marion Food Pantry 181 viewsThe Marion Food Pantry is almost set to open at the Cushing Community Center. Hours will be Tuesdays from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and on Thursdays and Saturdays from 10:00 am to noon, according to Council on Aging Director Karen Gregory. The pilot program will begin by offering nonperishable food and household items and is considering expanding to Mattapoisett and Rochester, adding perishable food offerings contingent on available storage.

Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run 180 views Sunday, May 4 was a perfect day for a fun run through Marion, and about 200 people turned out to participate in VASE’s second annual Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run to raise money for educational programs at Sippican Elementary School. Marion 4th of July Parade180 viewsMarion Town Administrator Jay McGrail and Select Board members Norm Hills, John Waterman, and Randy Parker walked the Independence Day parade route on Monday morning along with veterans, marching bands, Boy and Girl Scout troops, youth baseball teams, decorated floats, fire engines, and a convoy of antique cars.
