Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run 184 views Sunday, May 4 was a perfect day for a fun run through Marion, and about 200 people turned out to participate in VASE’s second annual Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run to raise money for educational programs at Sippican Elementary School. Begun in 2006 in memory of William Mee, the program is open to community children divided into two age groups that meet weekday mornings and afternoons at Mattapoisett Town Beach. From 9-11 am and 1-3 pm, students sail under the watchful eye of experienced instructors and three safety boats.
