About 90 student volunteers helped pass out turkey dinners and raffle prizes, and cafeteria staff also volunteered their time to provide a delicious meal of thanks to area senior citizens. New Year’s Eve Party266 viewsA New Year’s Eve party at the Rochester Senior Center gave area seniors the chance to ring in the New Year early in the company of friends. Guests enjoyed dinner and dessert followed by the sharing of New Year’s resolutions and non-alcoholic bubbly. ORR Lockdown266 viewsORR was in lockdown on Thursday, April 14, after the Mattapoisett Police Department received a call pertaining to a gunman at the school. According to Captain Anthony Days of the Mattapoisett Police, an out-of-state call center alerted them of an Internet chat about a person with a gun at the school. Twelfth Night266 viewsThe talented students at Rochester Memorial School presented their annual tribute to the Bard on Friday, April 29 as they performed Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night.” RMS teacher Danni Kleiman has been adapting the scripts and directing the RMS Shakespeare plays for 27 years now. Kleiman explained the selection process for the annual Shakespearian play, saying, “I look at the talent that I have from the previous year,” says Kleiman. “I also look at the talent in the 5th grade and pick the play accordingly.” Kle

Kids Equipment Fun Day266 viewsSaturday, May 7, was the date for the annual Kids Equipment Fun Day at Washburn Park in Marion, sponsored by Marion Recreation. The kids climbed aboard ambulances, fire trucks, police cruisers, and even the harbormaster’s boat.
