First Congregational Church of Rochester275 viewsThe bell of the First Congregational Church of Rochester rang above the center of Rochester for the last time this morning, November 20, before it was lowered from the church’s belfry via crane to the ground, the final step of the renovation on the church. The historic bell, created in 1892 by an apprentice of Paul Revere III, grandson to our famous bell maker Paul Revere, will be refurbished and put in storage for some time before it is returned to the church. ORRJH Thanksgiving Banquet 275 viewsORR Junior High School eighth-graders hosted the annual Thanksgiving Banquet for Tri-Town Seniors on Sunday, November 22. About 90 student volunteers helped pass out turkey dinners and raffle prizes, and cafeteria staff also volunteered their time to provide a delicious meal of thanks to area senior citizens. Guests enjoyed dinner and dessert followed by the sharing of New Year’s resolutions and non-alcoholic bubbly. Special Olympics Young Athletes275 viewsRoughly 120 Tabor Academy students volunteered on January 10 to assist with the school’s first session of the Special Olympics Young Athletes™ program held at Tabor. The program offers children ages 3-7 with intellectual and developmental disabilities opportunities to engage in physical activities vital to mental and physical growth. Spearheaded by Math teacher Tim Cleary and Tabor senior Molly Bent, sessions continue January 17 to March 6 (no session February 7) at 2:00 pm at the Fish Center for Athletics

Twelfth Night275 viewsThe talented students at Rochester Memorial School presented their annual tribute to the Bard on Friday, April 29 as they performed Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night.” RMS teacher Danni Kleiman has been adapting the scripts and directing the RMS Shakespeare plays for 27 years now. Kleiman explained the selection process for the annual Shakespearian play, saying, “I look at the talent that I have from the previous year,” says Kleiman. “I also look at the talent in the 5th grade and pick the play accordingly.” Kle
