The event is a competition in training, tracking, obedience, and protection for working breeds of dogs. Marion Memorial Day278 viewsRochester fared far better with its Memorial Day celebration than Marion and Mattapoisett did with theirs on rainy Monday. Sunday, May 29, was a picture perfect day for a parade. Marion Village 5K278 viewsThe number of participants in this year’s Marion Village 5K might have been down slightly according to race organizers, but the sentiment of fun and competition certainly was not on Saturday, June 25. Taking first place for men was Andrew Sukeforth of Middleboro with a time of 15:43, and Meg Hughes of Rochester won first place in the women’s division with a time of 19:50. Harbor Days 278 viewsHarbor Days came to Mattapoisett this past weekend, and many visitors were gracious enough to spin The Wanderer Wheel for a $1 donation to the Lions Club. Those who played helped raise an extra $523 the Lions Club will use to benefit the community.
